Nature and Objective

Learning Robot Operating System (ROS) for Robotics could be like learning Android for Apps development. It is one of the key technics for professionals to equip themselves for upgrading their manufacturing facilities and capabilities. This course provides an introduction of ROS and the open-source programming libraries for robot development and control. It provides core concepts on setting up a ROS programming environment as well as hands on experience with a customised designed ROS robot tool for different robot control demonstrations.

Content

Module I

Lesson 1             Basic Concept of ROS, application and development trend Lesson 2             Installing and basic programming on ROS

Module II

Lesson 3 - 4        Visual control and Move control on Robot Lesson 5 - 6        Mapping and Navigation on Robot Lesson 7 - 8        Voice interaction control on Robot Lesson 9 - 10      Human-machine interfacing control on Robot

Course Fee

HK$2,600* (Original Price: HK$7,800) *This course is an approved Reindustrialisation and Technology Training Programme (RTTP), which offers up to 2/3 course fee reimbursement upon successful applications.   • Degree or diploma in engineering or computer science
